Investor Wim Beelen realizes relaunch of Jongerius Houten and Tuin op Tafel

Houten, Feb. 2, 2026, Larendael, the investment and development company of entrepreneur Wim Beelen, has reached an agreement with trustee Mr. Marco Guit (AMS Advocaten) about a relaunch of the activities of Plant Nursery Jongerius Houten B.V., Tuin Op Tafel and Jongerius Onroerend Goed B.V. at the location in Houten. ‘We see great potential in this 30-hectare site and look forward to reviving the largest organic plant nursery in the Netherlands. Step by step, we are building a sustainable future for the food industry here,’ said Beelen.

The plant nursery was declared bankrupt by the Central Netherlands District Court in late December 2025. The bankruptcy of Jongerius Onroerend Goed B.V. also followed in early 2026. Subsequently, the trustee initiated a sale process for the assets and real estate, with several parties submitting bids. The trustee decided to agree to Larendael's bid. This acquisition by Larendael gives Jongerius the opportunity to continue under a new owner. "The presented plan offers confidence in a careful and future-proof continuation of the activities,” says trustee Mr. Marco Guit (AMS Advocaten). Today, the parties involved signed the acquisition agreement.

With the acquisition of the approximately 30 hectares of land in Houten, Larendael becomes the owner of the site on which the nursery is located. Larendael will also take over Jongerius' greenhouses, machinery, production lines and installations. This will create a solid basis to continue and further develop the activities at the location in Houten. Larendael will enter into discussions with the personnel to jointly explore how to build a sustainable and progressive company in the future.

In the coming months, Larendael will map out Jongerius' production capacity, cultivation processes and organization. On that basis it will be decided which activities will be resumed in the short term and how the location can grow step by step into a future-proof, sustainable nursery with regional significance.

In that context, the cultivation of organic herb and vegetable plants for the Garden on the Table concept will begin in the near future. This concept fits closely with the vision of sustainable, small-scale food production and makes it possible to grow your own fresh herbs and vegetables even with limited space.

At the same time, Larendael is contacting existing customers and suppliers to investigate which collaborations can be continued. This will involve a careful examination of feasibility, continuity and the legal preconditions that apply after the bankruptcy.

Active as an entrepreneur and developer, Wim Beelen, together with an experienced and entrepreneurial team that has worked together for many years, is the driving force behind a variety of ventures and sustainable real estate developments.
The trustee is continuing the settlement of the bankruptcy for the parts not included in the relaunch, including the sale of real estate in Harmelen. Creditors can continue to submit their claims to the estate.

The trustee is striving for a quick settlement and is hopeful that eventually all creditors can be satisfied, although the total debt position is not yet fully understood.
